Job Description
This role holds the utmost responsibility of safeguarding the health, safety, and overall welfare of the children under their care. It entails offering clinical and technical assistance to foster and adoptive parents through meticulous case management services, crisis management, regular home visits, weekly communication, diligent monitoring of service adherence, thorough documentation, continuous training, and unwavering advocacy. The primary aim of this position is to diligently strive towards attaining permanency for the children, all the while actively evaluating the requirements of both the child and the foster/adopt parent, and orchestrating necessary interventions seamlessly.
Qualifications
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a prestigious college or university in the field of social work or any other related human service discipline is required, along with at least one year of verifiable full-time employment in a child-placing agency. This experience should involve delivering personalized therapeutic interventions to children and teenagers with unique requirements, as well as their foster or adoptive families.
Job Summary:
As the Child Placement Management Staff (CPMS), the primary duty of the Child is to offer assistance and technical support to the Program Director, Case Managers, and Clinicians as mandated by Residential Child Care Licensing, ()FPS §749.669, and in compliance with HOH and ORR policies and procedures, Cooperative Agreement, licensing minimum standards, and all other relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines. The CPMS operates under the guidance of the Director of Foster Care Services. This is a full-time role that may require work outside regular hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability; travel may be necessary.
To excel in this role, the individual must possess a warm demeanor and pleasant disposition, along with exceptional communication and multitasking abilities, and a strong commitment to their work. The Child Placement Management Staff must be prepared to work on-site under the supervision of the Program Director, Assistant Program Director, or their designee.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the oversight of the Agency’s foster home recruitment efforts.
- Work closely with foster families experiencing issues with children in their care in order to avoid a disruption of placement.
- Work in conjunction with Program Director or Child Placement Administrator to ensure that persons whose behavior or health status presents a danger to children or staff are not allowed at the agency or foster homes.
- Work closely with licensing and recruitment staff to ensure licensing of new foster families.
- Review potential foster parent documentation with disqualifying issues reported to Director of Foster Care Services.
- Assist with review of all home studies submitted for licensure.
- Ensure all Foster administrative staff and foster families receive the required training.
- Support foster families as needed.
- Assist with review and approval of all child placement activities.
- Assist with development and update of Foster Family Handbook.
